CDL - Self Certify to Perform Entry Level Driver Training

Length: 4 hours

This class will go through the basic requirements to become an Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) and how to certify your organization with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).  This class will go through the registration requirements.  The class and practical training does not have requirements for hours of training.  It is up to each agency to develop and register a program that meets the needs of their employees. Please note that this class focuses on what training/testing the agency can perform in-house.  Each applicant will need to meet the Utah CDL requirements through the Utah Driver’s License Division – Department of Public Safety (DPS), including: complete a self-certification form, obtain DOT Medical Card/eye test, having a valid drivers license, proof of identity, and application fees.  The applicant will need to supply these requirements before taking the CDL written test (DPS) to obtain a learners permit and before taking the final CDL skills test (DPS).
