Course Description
Topics of discussion include discussing why good compaction is important; understanding the meaning of density and compaction; reviewing the nature of the moisture density relationship for compacted soil; investigating hot mix compaction issues; understanding the differences between cutbacks, emulsions, and asphalt; reviewing the grading systems for asphalt products; reviewing aggregates for different uses; evaluating stockpiles and stockpile handling; and considering aggregate testing.
