The Utah Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center was established in 1988 at Utah State University in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to:

    • Transfer Highway Technology from FHWA, UDOT, and universities to local transportation agencies
    • Provide an avenue of feedback from local transportation agencies to UDOT, FHWA and universities on local transportation needs
How Do We Serve Local Utah Agencies?
    • By providing workshops and other training to local Utah agencies on topics of importance for the effectiveness of their local transportation programs (see our Calendar of Events for a list of upcoming events).
    • By offering a free (within Utah) Lending Library of publications, videos, and other multi-media products for local Utah agencies.
    • Producing and distributing quarterly On The Move newsletters and periodic technical alert bulletins for local Utah agencies.
    • By providing information services for local Utah agencies in finding the references and resources they need to serve their local constituents.
    • By providing direct technical assistance for local Utah agencies in dealing with their specific transportation challenges.
    • Through special transportation projects such as infrastructure management, road surface management, innovative contracting, etc.
    • Work with local Utah agencies directly and with our Advisory Board to help determine and meet your needs.
    • Posting a site on the world wide web with information on our program and links to other sites of interest to local Utah agencies.
