from On the Move, Winter (December) Quarter 1998, Volume 11, Number 4
In October, UDOT's Research Division released the 21st edition of their Qualified Product List.
The intent of the document is to "provide a listing of acceptable products that have proven
satisfactory through laboratory testing, field evaluation, or found equivalent by [UDOT]
standards."
Products for use in construction, maintenance, safety and operation of highways and bridges are
included on the list. They have been evaluated by the Utah Department of Transportation
Research Division and the New Products Evaluation Panel (NPEP).
These products are evaluated and their status is given. "Acceptable" status means that the
product meets existing UDOT standards. "Specialty" status is given for products which are
uniquely different and there is no established Department standard.
Along with the status, a brief "product description and history" is given. These notes highlight the
advantages of the product and describe which established UDOT Standard or lab testing criteria is
satisfied. Research performance test reports are available upon request from the Research
Division.
