With the increased concern about pedestrian safety, the Utah T² Center in cooperation with FHWA, UDOT, Utah Local Governments Trust, Utah Risk Management Mutual Association and the Utah Association of Counties, are hosting a Pedestrian Safety Roadshow, August 18-20, 1998.

Pedestrian safety is a national problem:

6,000 pedestrians are killed annually.

90,000 pedestrians are injured annually.

A pedestrian or bicyclist is killed every 3 1/2 minutes.

Pedestrian injuries and fatalities result in $20 billion in societal costs.

Who dies as a pedestrian?

58% are working adults.

23% are persons ages 65 and older.

19% are children up to the age of 19.

Pedestrian safety is an issue important to us all. Come join us at the Roadshow to better understand the ways we can improve pedestrian safety for ourselves, our children and our communities. Improving pedestrian safety is a team effort!
