The following are revisions made to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
"An exception is that Advance Pedestrian Crossing (W11-2) and Pedestrian Crossing Signs
(W11A-2) may be black on yellow background or black on fluorescent yellow-green
background."
2. Add the following discussion as the second paragraph to Section 2C-31, Advance Crossing Signs (W11 Series).
"The color, fluorescent yellow-green may be used with a black border and legend for the
advance crossing signs. When this color is used, a systematic approach, one color within a zone
or area, should be used to install these signs. The mixing of standard yellow and fluorescent
yellow-green within a selected site area should be avoided."
3. Add the above discussion (eliminating the word "advance" in the first sentence) as the second
paragraph to section 2C-32, Crossing Signs (W11A Series).
"An exception is that school crossing signs may be black on yellow background or black on flourescent yellow-green background."
2. Add the following text as the last sentence of the first paragraph of Section 7B-9, School Advance Sign (S1-1):
"The color, flourescent yellow-green may be used with a black border and legend for the School
Advance Crossing signs (S1-1). The discussion in 2C-31 regarding use as a systematic
approach applies."
3. Add the following text as the last sentence of the first paragraph of Section 7B-10, School Crossing Sign (S2-1):
"The color, flourescent yellow-green may be used with a black border and legend for the School
Crossing signs. The discussion in 2C-31 regarding use as a systematic approach applies."
4. Add the following discussion as the last sentence of the first paragraph of Section 7B-11, School Bus Stop Ahead Sign (S3-1):
"The color, flourescent yellow-green may be used with a black border and legend for the School
Bus Stop Ahead signs (S3-1). The text in 2C-31 regarding use as a systematic approach
applies."
"An exception is that Bicycle Crossing signs (W11-1) may be black on yellow background or black on flourescent yellow-green background."
