The Real Solutions Seminar is a new series of FREE Web-seminars hosted by NHI. Our initial presentations have been successes attended by over 200 participants. Each seminar features special guest speakers presenting solutions to issues faced in the field and how those problems were solved. Our guest experts will be available for a question and answer session following their presentation.

Please join us for: AASHTO Technology Implementation Group (TIG) presents Use of Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) for Ultra-Rapid Bridge Construction. This seminar will include an introduction on the usage of SPMTs to remove and install bridges, details on how Utah is constructing a dozen bridges with SPMTs this summer, best SPMT applications, and how the AASHTO TIG SPMT Lead States Team can assist you in moving your bridges with SPMTs. Featured guest speakers are Jim McMinimee of the Utah DOT, Jugesh Kapur of the Washington State DOT, and Mary Lou Ralls formerly of the Texas DOT.

About the speakers…Jim McMinimee is Director of Project Development at the Utah DOT and has been with UDOT for 23 years. Jim served as the Region Two Director in Salt Lake City for six years and additionally has over 10 years of combined experience in materials and central maintenance operations at UDOT. He is a member of the AASHTO TIG Executive Committee.

Jugesh Kapur has been the State Bridge Engineer with the Washington State Department of Transportation for the past 2.5 years. He has worked for WSDOT for the past 17 years and was with HDR Engineering for 5 years prior to that. He is a member of the AASHTO TIG Lead States Team for the nationwide implementation of SPMTs to remove and install bridges.

Mary Lou Ralls Newman is an engineering consultant and principal of Ralls Newman, LLC. She retired from TxDOT after 20 years of service, the last five years as State Bridge Engineer and Director of the Bridge Division. Ralls is also a member of the AASHTO TIG SPMT Lead States Team.
